Construction Project Manager

Shaw Built, Inc. is looking for a Construction Project Administrator to join our tight-knit, high-performing team. We are a general construction company based in Santa Cruz, CA, committed to delivering exceptional projects with precision and care.

Shaw Built is seeking a dynamic CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER to oversee multiple projects from pre-construction planning through to completion and lead our team of carpenters and tradesmen to deliver on multiple projects, simultaneously. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

    Manage contracts with subcontractors, including bid evaluation and negotiation.

    Monitor project progress against the plan and identify potential issues

    DIrect the Construction Project Administrator to support all projects

    Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, city officials, and other stakeholders.

    Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

    Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

    Conduct regular project reviews and progress meetings.

    Monitor on-site construction crews, assigning tasks and ensuring productivity.

    Monitor quality control measures and identify any defects

    Coordinate the delivery and management of materials on-site

    Resolve day-to-day construction issues and conflicts

  • Utilize software tools including Buildertrend, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Dropbox

Qualifications & Skills

  • StrAbility to lead a team by being a good and effective communicator

    Excellence in building rapport and creating a team environment where all those with project responsibilities work well together

    Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation

    Excellence in planning how each process should be done, how resources are to be acquired, and when the project should be completed

    Ability to determine potential risks while devising proactive ways to solve them

    Excellence in the budgeting of financial resources

    Ability to welcome feedback and use it to improve the quality of production

    Excellence in verbal and oral communication skills with clients and partners

Experience & Education

  • experience as a carpenter and

  • Previous Contractor license a plus

  • A degree in construction management
